Viscount 810 Vno
I wonder if anyone has information or experience of the Viscount 810 series Vno calculation. The earlier V700 and 800 aircraft normal operating speed limit was highly variable and was based on weight without fuel, altitude and fuel remaining. The 810 series, being significantly beefed up for its higher operating weights and more powerful engines, may have had a simpler calcultation. Any info will be much appreciated.:)

In a previous life I flew both the 700 and the 800 (810,816,832) with Ansett in the 60's and as I remember the VNO which we used as the descent speed was 200 and 235 kts respectively. regards..Emeritus |
It has been a long time for me too but I remember the red line was 234 kts on all our 700 series aircraft. That was the normal descent speed in smooth air.

The V810 series had a Vno of 265kts and a Vne of 298kts as far as I remember. No calculation therefore required.
There was no variable Vne with ZFW as there was with the 700s and 800s Good a/c with the possibility of max pax and max fuel! |
