Holdover Times

1. If there is no active precipitation, does the holdover time still start at the start of the second stage (if it is two stage)?

2. Decode this Type 2/75/0630/08 Jan 02?

I thought possibly Type 2/ 75/25 /Holdover starts 06:30Z/8th Jan 02

Cheers in advance

Type 2/75/0630/08 Jan 02
a) type 2 fluid
b) 75 = 75% fluid (25% water) [not for type 1]
c) LOCAL time when final stage of de-icing commenced
d) local date

Strictly speaking the Type of fluid should be quoted using Roman numerals, i.e TYPE II

Not sure I agree with the statement that local time is used.

Z usually refers to GMT, or UTC as our European friends decree.

06.30z in Lima isn't early morning.

Also, here's a question. If you as Captain can't see the surfaces treated, do you accept the word of the person offering you the chit/slip of paper/billet doux or do you don you outside gear and go have a look?

You = $4000 per mnth. Deicer chappy = $1000 per month?

ok, in my company, the time is LOCAL time of start of finall stage

I believe LOCAL Time AND LOCAL date are the accepted format. It does not matter, however, if you are not sure - just append the time zone.

Sir George - NB the 'Z' comes from the 'guess' by 'gatbusdriver', not the tech log entry?

All times are GMT. The time now is 13:53.
