767-300ER Range
 
Just a quick enquiry relating to the 767-300ER and its range capability in a 2 or 3 class config.
What city pairs for example are possible with normal routes from London to Asia?

From my own research, it would appear BKK is about the practical limit all year round with average winds.

Anyone have more accurate information?

I have done MAN-CPT in a 2 class 763, 5300 NM. Thats just about the max it will do with a reasonable load of SLF. LHR-BKK is almost 5200 NM, and would work fairly easily heading east, but winds might be a problem going back. But all in all, figure the 763 good for about 5000 NM.

Longest flight I ever did with a full load of 20 in business and 245 in the back in winter( strong headwinds) was 13hrs 20 min from BKK to Vienna same as SIN/VIE That was maximum range with reserves as I recall. Manila to Bahrain was another long one in winter.

It depend also of the temp of the fuel.In BKK I never tank above 69.9tons and in europe with cold fuel it go up to 72.5.the difference is 30min of extra cruise...

I thought that with a constant mass and increased temperature the volume will increase, not the mass. Is there somthng I'm missing?

I've not flown the 763 so I am unsure of the theoretical maximum fuel load - however I would imagine that VORDME2 is saying that because of the high temperature of fuel in BKK the volumetric limit of the tanks will only allow 69.9 tonnes. In Europe where it is significantly colder the volumetric limit of the tanks will allow 72.5 tonnes.

Just looked up my log book and I used to get never less than 71.3 out of SIN or BKK but we always took off in the early hours of the morning when coolest. In Jan '96 got 72.1 with ZFW of 113.0. (My last flight on the B767) From memory that must have been RTOW for that model (high gross weight)
