Speeds...
I'm making a list of all speeds to make it easier for me to se their place on the scale, please fill in any gaps and missing speeds...
Brake release Vmcg Vmca V1 Vr V2 V2min V3 V (max endurance & min power) Vmd V (max range) V (long range) Vmax |
|
Thanx
here is an ameded list... could anyone please check that it's correct? Brake Release Point - Vmcg - V1 - Vmu (minimum unstick) - Vr - Vmca - V2 take off safety speed - V2 min - V3 - V max endurance & min power - V max range & min fuel-flow - V long range - V maximum & max drag |
Concerning Vmu, I don't get it........
Too old, too bold:O |

- Vmcg - V1 - Vmu (minimum unstick) - Vr - Vmca - V2 take off safety speed - V2 min - V3 - V max endurance & min power - V max range & min fuel-flow - V long range - V maximum & max drag 2. The various take-off related speeds don't have a single fixed relationship. For example: - either of Vmca or Vmcg may be smaller - V2min must by definition be not more than V2 (you have V2min>V2) - V1 and Vr may be equal - Vrmin may be set by 1.05Vmca for some cases (hence Vr>Vmca) |

1. It's 'brake' not 'break' - 'break' is not a word you want to see associated with an aircraft.

I see, how about the faster speeds? I've seen various definitions about speeds that occur at the same point on the scale, for example best range and max range seams to be the same speed. Max Endurance and minimum power also seams to be the same speed...? |
Hi Founder
Shouldn't Vne be at the end of the list somewhere?
Cheers, ABX |
....Or more probably Vmo/Mmo. Also Va is missing. Also, Vd (no joke!!) is Maximum Design Dive speed.

I know they might not have a fixed place but with an approximation perhaps they might fit in somewhere... |
How about Vmcl?
Along with Va Vb Vc Vd design speeds? |
Brake release
Vmcg Vmca V1 Vr V2 V2min V3 Va V (max endurance & min power) Vmd V (max range) V (long range) Vmo Mmo Vd |
A few more to throw into the equation:
Vmbe - brake energy speed Vlof - lift off speed V4 - steady initial climb speed Vno - normal operating limit speed Vat - target threshold speed |
Vfe
Vfo Vle Vlo Vref Vapp Vs Vs0 Vcl Vmd Vef Vx Vy Vz (Clue - very Airbussy) Just a few to wet your appetite.:E Regards, Old Smokey |
