range and long range
hi guys
first of all thank you for the useful postings in this forum I have 2 questions: 1) How dos LRC (long range cruise) change with headwind and why 2) How does range change with headwind and why  thanks for answer |
I believe that LRC does not change with wind whereas Max range or Cost Index 0 does change with wind. Basically when flying into a headwind the Speed increases and with a tailwind the speed decreases. The FMC on a Boeing calculates this automatically. Old Smokey did a good piece on this a while ago which was a great help in my study for a certain Hong Kong based airline.
