what categori?
 

Hello out there....

I would like to know what categori the turbo prop a/c in performance class A is in, namely the ATR.

Anyone who knows ?

Performance class A category A/C are:
- All multi engine turbojet A/C
- Multi engine turboprop A/C with Pax config of more than 9 pax or a MTOW exceeding 5700 kg or 12569lbs
Thus the ATR 72 500 wich is 22000 kg MTOW is class A.

But if you are wondering the category then they are based on Vat wich is speed at treshold about 1.3 times stall speed in landing configuration ,now
I don´t know the ATR but I would guess it is CATEGORY B
A :Vat<91 kts
B :Vat 91/120 kts
C :Vat 121/140 kts
D :Vat 141/165 kts
E :Vat >165 kts

ATR is Approach cat B - except for certain weights combined with icing speeds. This turns it into a cat C aircraft at (literally) the flick of a (OK, two, then...) swith(es).
