Hi,
For those interested, please check this out for more info on the 'bus. www.airbusdriver.net It's geared to USAirways operation, but in contains a tremendous amount of info. Bye. |
And also have a look at www.wingfiles.com The tech overviews for all the Airbus FBW types are there.
|
Flying the Airbus in direct law is like flying a Bell 47 Helicopter-unstable and skittish as a long-tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs. If you don't believe me go ahead and turn off both FAC's and give it a try! The airframe design has no inherent stability without computer assistance.

Despite all the wonderful protections that the bus has, it is possible to overcome them all if a suicidal pilot wished to. Just push the stick forward and hold it at full fwd and see what happens - in the sim of course!
|
In DCT LAW it flies just like any other aircraft - it just feels a bit odd because you're doing it with a side stick rather than a tractor steering wheel.
SIDSTAR YES. Just turn off a couple of things and push (or pull) till you drop! |
