Concorde AICU manual
Would anybody here still possess a Concorde AICU component manual (i.e., schematics, board layout, etc.), and be willing to run off a copy (all copying and mailing costs paid, of course)?
I have worked as a flight test support engineer on Concorde for the AFCS (SFENA and Elliott) in the early seventies, at both Fairford and Filton. I have a few AFCS items, but also an AICU (which was being developped while I was at Filton), and have become interested in how this weird beast actually worked. I have a reasonable amount of info on how the AICS (i.e., the system) works, but none on the actual AICU innards. Very slowly working on reverse-engineering the beast by trying to recover the circuit diagrams from the boards, but of course a CMM would be a godsend. And for anybody not familiar with the AICU... the digital "core" consists of 160+ TTL ICs, two 64-bit RAMs (yes, BITS) and 42 512-bit ROMs.... We've come a long way since those days. |
