Q400 external lights

Interesting one for the Q400 drivers.

From seeing a vid of the -400 it seems the anti-coll lights are fairly average.

They don't seem to flash regularly - seem rather random - at times neither seem to be flashing.

Are there only two external white anti-colls - one atop the vert tail the other under mid-fuse? For such a big baby I'd have thort more would have been better.

Compare with ATR72 white strobey's galore!

Randomness of anti cols prob due to vid refreshing at x frames per second, and not capturing some for the stobe flashes. Anti cols are usually red on the upper/lower fuselage, denotes engines running/danger to those approaching aircraft. White strobes are generally for use only when airbourne or on a active runway, and are located on the extremities of the aircraft, ie the wing tips and tail.

I agree with you...

No, I doesn´t seems like the Q400 have strobes on its wingtips. And the anti-colls are both white. If you compare to the 100-300 I´m not surprised cause they´re not that well equipped either. Either single old flagging red on the tail or strobes (randomly!) on wingtip and lower tail.

DH should have a look at other fabrics like the ATR. Much easier to se during LVP than the "glowing" DHs!
