Passenger weight

Hello all,
I hope this is the right forum for this type of question.
I was wondering if the airlines have a standard weight they use for passengers when calculating their loadings.

Thanks

Here is a sample of what one company uses for it's weight and balance.

Weight Values for Passengers and Cabin Baggage (JAR-OPS1.615 and 1.620)

Adult: male and female, are defined as persons of an age of 12 years and above.

Child: are defined as persons of an age of two years and above but who are less than 12 years of age.

Infant: are defined as persons who are less than 2 years of age.
Non-holiday flights / Holiday flights

Male: 88 kgs. / 83 kgs.
Female: 70 kgs. / 69 kgs.
Child: 35 kgs. / 35 kgs.
All Adults – no children: 84 kgs. / 76 kgs.

Baggage:

Domestic flight means a flight with origin and destination within the borders of one State;

Flights within the European region means flights, other than Domestic flights, whose origin and destination are within Europe.

Intercontinental flight, other than flights within the European region, means a flight with origin and destination in different continents.

Domestic: 11 kgs.
Intercontinental: 15 kgs.
Others: 13 kgs.

Hope the information helps.

Thanks Captjns, that's interesting. What is the difference between non-holiday flight and holiday flight.

Perhaps Holiday charter would be more appropriate. You may use the less restrictive weights when the flight is part of a suntrip to Mallorca with travel agencies like TUIfly, for instance.
I suppose people are not carrying as much hand luggage as on a scheduled flights (only a small pocket camera or a newly acquired deodorant, no computers and such things).

My pleasure. 172_driver said it very nicely about what people travel with on vacation... which is why the lower weights.

Keep in mind that these values only concerns big planes. If you search for smaller planes, the values should be considerably increased. You'll find these values in the OPS.

Do holiday charters take into account the fact that most people put a bit of weight on during their holiday (I always do:sad: ) times by 200-250 it could add up?
