Hi there.
Does anyone have to hand the calculations to check what will fit through an particular door size? Or a reference to where they are available?
You know the "will my 5M long 20cm*20cm piece fit through the door etc?
A trawl of the internet has yet to provide what I need.
Any help or guidance would be most welcome

Generally the OEM manuals will provide tables etc., to determine this.

Two considerations -

(a) will it fit through the opening head on ? Simple 2D geometry but not usually limiting

(b) will it fit through the opening at an angle and then not jam on one or more internal surfaces .. gets a little more complex in the calculation but not horribly so.

Overall, there is not going to be a simple number cruncher to get the answer so, either you hunt down (or measure) the 3D profiles and do the relevant geometry .. or read the OEM bookwork which describes the results of the same work previously done by the OEM.

The 2D geometry is not a problem, however, what happens in the case when the OEM does not provide the tables for example in the case of a frame conversion?
Is there a decent internet resource to obtain the necessary basic formulae without paying for load planning software? I do not want to plan the curvature of the fuselage into the equation just treat it as an oblong box.

Not aware of what you want OTS for few or nil dollars .. however, if you want to idealise the volume as a simple box, then the sums are pretty straightforward (fairly simple trig) and I would just set it up in a spreadsheet ... ?
