where do you find take off thrust with engine bleed air ON /OFF
is there any body who can answer to this question, because that 's a question that an instructor asked me but i don't understand what it means.
IT is for a B737-400 where do you find take off thrust with engine bleed air ON /OFF??? |
Figures are in the QRH, normally displayed for engine bleeds on with a correction for bleeds off.

On the -400, on the CDU, look at the 'Take-off Ref' page.
The N1 for take-off is shown for each engine (depending on FMC version). I believe even the earliest versions include this information. The figures will depend on the engine bleed configuration e.g. with an engine bleed on, the thrust on that particular engine will be different to the 'engine bleed off' condition. Of course, this information is also comprehensively provided in the QRH performance section as 'Capt Chambo' stated. Hope that helps !!! |
elpilote, If you were referring to the Performance data with bleed air ON /OFF, then Capt Chambo and waffles have indeed given you the correct information.
On reading your post closely, if your super pedantic instructor was asking for the actual thrust (Lb / Kg / Newtons etc.), then it will be found in the Performance Manual, not issued to flight crew. Not issued because it has no practical information "in the field" for pilots. If you do get hold of a copy of the Performance Manual, look for "Referred Thrust", from which installed thrust with all of it's bleed air corrections etc. may be derived. Regards, Old Smokey |

1) Exactly which 'course' are you taking? 2) How much are you paying for it? The back-up documentation seems to be a bit 'thin'! |
On the NG if you go to the N1 Limit page and enter the OAT at 1L you will get the 26K N1 at line 1R, assuming your airline doesn't have the T/O Bump option.
If the packs are on, switching them off will increase the figure by 0.8%. The 24K and 22K derate figures are available by selecting 2L and 3L. If you enter an assumed temp at 1L the figures at 1R will change to reflect that value,again approx 0.8% difference packs on / off. |

Thrust is reduced when bleeds are on because high-pressure air is being cyphoned out of the engines before they get to the combustion stages to run the AC packs, right?

I seriously doubt that a 73-instructor asked you that question, because you are for sure not on a TR for the 73, as your last post pinpoints. Nothing wrong with that, but you might try a forum for Microsoft FS-pilots instead to get your questions answered :}
