WestJet RNP Video
Here's an interesting video about RNP approaches currently used by Alaska Airlines and WestJet in North America.
Is anyone aware if they are being done elsewhere? http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...73282371819535 |
I believe Qantas have started testing RNP approaches at Melbourne, and Queenstown NZ. Not sure of the aircraft type, either 767 or 737NG.

QANTAS - with 737ng only
Queenstown, Canberra, Others to be added. |

Air New Zealand into Wellington with A320s

Several public (Special Aircraft and Aircrew Authorization Req'd) RNP procedures are available in the U.S. -- e.g.

At Westjet we now have about 12 airports in Canada with approved RNP approaches. For safety, eliminating N/P approaches and circling and for ecomomy in terms of straight in vs ILS circling and cutting off mileage (up to 26nm in CYXX) they can't be beat.
They do not integrate well in very busy terminal areas which is why we don't have them for CYYZ, CYUL and neither Alaska or WestJet have them for KLAX or CYVR where they would be used to back up ILS outages. |
