A320

hi,

i'm current studying aerospace engineering at university, and am doing a project on landing gears.

i need to know what the fore and aft centre of gravity limits are for the Airbus A320, and any information on landing gears with rotating bogies.

i would appreciate any information anyone can provide.

thanks in advance.

Raj,

Moved to "tech log", where you're more likely to get a meaningful answer.

A319
Ref Chord length 4.193m (14.71m aft of a/c nose)

CofG Limits vary according to Weight and Phase of flight in a non linear fashion.
Rough figures below
T/o& Ldg @ Min Weight 14%-39%
In flight @ Min Weight 12%-40%
T/o&Ldg @ MTOW 21%-38%
in Flight @ MTOW 19%-39%

for info on rotating bogies (A330 / B767 / B747) try http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/design/q0200.shtml

A320, IAE engines, 73.5t MTOW, assuming 2 class 150 seat aircraft CG envelope:

T/o - 15% to 41% RC
Ldg - 15% to 42% RC
In flight - 13% to 45% RC

However, as already said there is significant variation during phase of flight, actual TOW / operating weights and for other configurations. This is the one that I am familiar with.

As for rotating bogies - not really relevant for A320s as almost all have twin wheel MLGs. As far as I'm aware, only Indian Airlines has a bogie on their A320s.
