CERTIFICATION
With all the publicity about Global Flyer I was wondering ( as you do in the bath:) ) how the certification was handled ?
The aircraft is not type certificated so in the USA it can fly quite legally on either an FAA Restricted or Experimental Airworthiness Certificate. This is a Non ICAO Annex 6 certificate and as stated on the Certifcate is not valid for flight in ANY other country. It also does not allow flight over congested areas. I am interested in how they did this as with an aircraft with these type of Non ICAO FAA Airworthiness Certificates operating in UK we had to go through a dog and pony show with the CAA for them to give us a Validation including presenting ALL the documents! Mind you we didnt have a much money as Richard and Steve ;) |
