AIRBUS. Minimum Weight Limutation.
HI!
IŽd like to know the reason for a minimum weight of 37.230 KG for a A-320. This limitation is stated in the FCOM 3. 3.01.20 " Weight Limitations". I can not figure out the reason for this, even though the typical DOW is around 42.500 and it sounds imposible such a low weight. REGARDS. |
I'm no expert at techie bits, but could it be to do with Vmca at fwd/aft CofG?
As you correctly say, it is of no consequence given the Dry Op Wt. |
For the normal airline ops, it is of no interest. But thinking about those "green" airframes going out on ferry/test flights, it might well be an issue.

Taken from the FARs, but i guess that there is a similiar JAR.
Sec. 25.25 Weight limits. (b) Minimum weight. The minimum weight (the lowest weight at which compliance with each applicable requirement of this part is shown) must be established so that it is not less than-- (1) The lowest weight selected by the applicant; (2) The design minimum weight (the lowest weight at which compliance with each structural loading condition of this part is shown); or (3) The lowest weight at which compliance with each applicable flight requirement is shown.
