dash 8 start/select light ?
 

Can anyone shed light on the reason for the select light remaining on after start on the DHC-8 a/c

My thinking its to do with batt charging but have no info to back it up with

I believe its because once the starter has switched to being a generator it runs at a reduced ouput for the first 15 seconds before the gen control unit allows it to give its full output.
I'm assuming this is to reduce load on the generator.
