What methods/memory aids does everyone use to help ADF tracking/holds?

Pull the head, push the tail. And remember the head is heavier than the tail.

The head of the needle always falls (it's the bigger and therefore heavier end), so the tail of the needle always rises.

Like OzEx: The head must be in a position to fall towards the track required (or the intercept angle if using a fixed card).

Fuji-san had it right - engage brain before releasing keyboard restraints.

PULL the tail

PUSH the head

Towards ADF; see more steer more, see less steer less.
Away from ADF; see less steer more, see more steer less.

Buy RANT or FS, dont waste a penny practicing in the real thing. IRT IN 10 HRS.

For teaching yourself adf tracking try to find a program called adf-trainer. It worked perfect for me.

And don`t forget the inclination error...

The needle wants to point toward the station on the ground, so in a turn it will slip downward by 10-15 degrees tipically.
