Load factor question
Sitting exams next monday and can't figure this one ,brain nearly on overload so here goes.
Straight and level with a Coeff/Lift of 0.38, a 1 degree increase in Angle/Attack increases Coeff/Lift by 0.082,so with a 2 degree increase in Angle of Attack due to a gust, what will the new Load factor be. Stuck on this one hope someone can help. |
1 + ( (0.082 * 2)/0.38) = 1.43

Thanks Ghengis,
Should have taken more notes on this one, mistakenly though I had it cracked. Could be the one that gets the pass though. Thanks for the reply. Flying Farmer |
Next time I might even spell Genghis correctly, most embarrasing.

Glad to be of service, although whilst I can see clearly why as an aeronautical Engineer I need this knowledge, it escapes me completely why it's considered useful to an airline pilot.

There you go, Genghis. you see now the mental anguish I have to go through before I pitch up 1 degree!
