McDonnel 119 bizjet

Looked in an old acft recognition book from the 60's the other day. And among old acft I saw a beatiful four eng biz jet named McDonnel 119. It had its eng mounted under the wing and could carry up to 19 people. It was build to be used by USAF, but the USAF decided to use another acft. Kind of look like a baby DC8.

Any info from other who have seen the acft or maybe some have even flown it?

The Model 119 was designed to compete for the USAF contract that was eventually won by the JetStar.

After losing out, McDonnell developed it into the Model 220 and aimed it at the biz-jet market. It wasn't successful and only the prototype was built. McDonnell used it as a company hack for a while then retired it.

Over forty years on now, I do believe that the airframe survives and can be seen in the US. Texas seems to ring a bell but if I can get any closer I'll re-post.

Many thanks for adding to the picture.

Do you happen to know who owns it and whether it's publicly accessible?
