A320 FLT CTRL page symbol meaning
 

Seen it somewhere, but now can’t find the reference to what the (in red) circled areas signify on the A320 FLT CTRL page.
Can anyone help?

I believe they may signify the limits in respect of high and low speed limits for surface deflections, or possible deflection limits in failure cases - but can't find the FCOM/FCTM reference either.....

Outer edges of boxes is max flight control surface extension clean, inner edges of boxes is max extension with slats/flaps extended, or flap handle not at 0, can't remember which. Also note the double lines and small box in the middle of the aileron deflection indicators. Double lines is neutral aileron clean, little boxes shows aileron droop when not clean. At the bar, so no FCOM reference.

Would it not be the other way around? Max deflection at low speed?

With ref to No 8 in the diagram - they are effectively the yaw damper range and limit for the speed. As speed inceases those indexes move in as the rudder movement range reduces to prevent too much rudder at high speed.

On the A330 the middle of the marking indicates +/-25° aileron deflection, or -30° and +15° elevator deflection, with the outer edges of the marking being 2° from the middle (ie. 23° or 27° for a 25° middle indication). It's an indication area of appropriate full-scale deflection.
