DC-10 Fuel quantity test
Hello Ladies and Gents,
"DC-10 FUEL QTY TEST Button When pushed to test, the three main tank fuel quantity indicator readings will go to 99,900 pounds The auxiliary tanks indicator reading will go to 199,900 pounds and the totalizer will indicate the sum of the master indicators. When the button is released, the indicators should show original quantity." Simple question. What would the test readings be in kilos please? A direct conversion of pounds to kilos or a sensible rounded off figure? Regards Ed |
Divide pounds by 2.204

Here's a stab in the dark, don't have a DC10 manual at hand - wouldn't it make sense to also show all 9s as well to test the display hardware?

I have a hunch I am overthinking this.
The fuel quantity indicators probably display the same test figures regardless of whether it's in pounds or kilos as it is a fictitious amount. It is simply a test of the indicators. Thank you all for your replies. Regards Ed |
After reading another manual I now realise (I had my suspicions) that my other manual was inaccurate.
The auxiliary tanks indicator does not go to 199,900 pounds but to 99,900 like the other tanks. The totalizer reading will go to 299700 or 399600 with aux tanks installed. My problem is now solved. Be careful what you read folks and have a lovely day. |
