Whoa there, no it isn't generally! Only if the regulating authority allows the operator to use that supplemental procedure, then they are allowed to take off with CSFF within the marked area. The FCOM specifically states that just because your airplane may have the CSFF area marked, that does not imply approval! My employer asked the local CAA, and they said no - and this has caused a lot of confusion among the pilots...

OAT has to be 4 deg. or above. Max 3 mm ice allowed. How do you tell?
I think most would be reluctant to go with that amount of ice. And it does extend outside of the box. |
