ENG BLEED 1+2 QRH proc A320
 

Hello everyone,

I have a question the Bleed 1 and 2 fault proc. More specifically regarding: the "RCL pb....PRESS" instruction. "this action enables to recover the subtitle (if any) associated with the AIR ENG 1+2 bleed fault alert."
I tried to recreate a situation (in the sim) in which one would need to use the RCL pb to recover the subtitle but could not find one.
For example, even when I inserted a bleed leak (1 or 2, and also 1 followed by 2), I will always get the applicable subtitles under the AIR ENG 1+2 BLEED FAULT Ecam message when it eventually is trigerred.
Can anybody think of a situation in which the crew has to use the RCL pb to get the subtitle back?

The crew does the ECAM first, clearing away the messages and action lines i.a.w. the usual abnormal flow.

Only later, when they get to the QRH, it's is the right time to use RCL in order to pull the original warning back on-screen and double check what it was. That is important given the complex logic of BLEED 1+2 FAULT paper C/L.

the bleed 1+2 fault ECAM will end with:
" bleed 1+2 fault proc....apply "
the crew is supposed to leave the ecam open and accomplish the paper checklist. So the ecam message is still present.
Unless I'm missing something.

Unlike the normal ECAM flow, the aircraft state you need to analyze for total bleed loss is not available from STS. Hence the additional guidance for RCL.

Although you are right for some model cases, the QRH guidance needs to cover all of them (the crew clearing one press too much included):

i.e.

What the ECAM has depends on the FWC series. FWC H2F8 and beyond has the full BLEED1+2 procedure on ECAM. The only thing is after doing available ECAM actions you have to reset the cross bleed to auto and reset the bleeds that will bring the remaining procedure on ECAM.

So F8 and beyond, no need to use to the RCL PB as the subtitle will already be present, correct?
Yet, prior to F8, there is a different checklist which doesn't mention the use of the RCL PB.

Actually H2F8 ECAM will ask Xbleed to Auto and both bleeds to be reset which must be complied with to get further ECAM. Recall is not part of H2F8 ECAM procedure.

Thanks for the reply vilas ... Looking at Safety first mag #13, The AIR ENG 1+2 fault ECAM along with the new QRH proc. has been introduced with F8 and after.
So if RECALL Pb action step is not part of the H2F8 ECAM BLEED 1+2 fault ECAM, why include the "RCL PB....PRESS" line in the corresponding QRH proc.?

Subtitles as I understand is the cause of the failure and then you follow the line. Because only certain failures reset is permitted. F8 ECAM done that and gives appropriate procedure. You can see the video on AirbusWin.

Thanks for the reply. Watched the WIN video and read safety first article. no mention of using the recall PB. I'll stop worrying about it.
