not sure if its the correct place to ask this, but giving it a shoot...
i want to buy the qc35 with one on the mic attacments, if antone uses it any feedback on how is it?
any idea if that'll work, or if theres any problem doing so?

Won't be certified for aircraft use.

from what i read as we always have the backup old headset and boom mic onbored, you're covered and as the headset are a detachable thing and not part of the aircraft they themself dont have to be approved as long as the other options are available..
is that correct, or am i missing somthing?

No first hand experience, but I’ve flown with a few guys who use them. I think the microphone attachment is called the UFlyMic. Excellent audio quality.

At about half the price of a comparable traditional headset, it’s worth consideration when mine eventually needs to be replaced.

Check with your Chief pilot (if you have one) or consult your flight operations manual (if you have one) on the requirement of using a personal headset.

At my outfit, it has to be TSO’d.

Sensible approach, rather than trial and incident approach.

I’ve been using QC35(11) and UFlyMike for almost 2 years in B737. It is excellent. I only wish I had bought it sooner.

Exactly my point, There's two separate TSO sections on their own website. Apparetly as I learned on the other link, you need to send them the headset and they will TSO-it in situ for a fee (undisclosed). Not applicable to QC35, however.

For Airbus, there is currently no requirement to use a STCd or TSOd headset. The subject matter was pulled from all documents and the last circular for "approved" headsets is almost 20 years old. From an aircraft point of view, a headset is a consumer of audio signals arriving at the comms jacks in the same way a phone/laptop/tablet charger or vacuum cleaner is a consumer of electrical power from the power sockets. We don't see anyone getting over excited about TSOd electrical consumption devices. A headset is not a permanent fixture and is not going to fry the circuitory.

Any limitations imposed by airlines are to cover their own asses for the benefit of nothing but much annoyance to flight crew who want decent ear protection without crushing their heads (I'm looking at you Bose A20).

I have used the QC25 for years. Last chief pilot said he was not going to talk about the subject. We had onboard headsets and as long as they were connected back no one would say anything.

Also take a look at the Avee mic - in my opinion a far tidier option and having bought one, I thoroughly recommend it. (www.Avee.no)

Before that I used a QC15 with the UFlyMike A100-T for 12 years, which for a long while was the best out there. But their latest offering for the QC35 is not up to the same standard and looks clunky in comparison.

Let us know how you get on mate.

Worst ever experience with avee ….
Bought the mic with the Bluetooth and after a few months it has started to make noises in the headsets.
Cant use it any more so I called them…
They are not changing, they are not refunding and I am over a year without a headset…
STAY AWAY!!!
