Va limit.
Hello everyone! Can someone explain this difference.?
AFM-LIMITATONS-AIRSPEEDS-VA states that in ALTN or DIRECT LAW max speed at 30000ft will be 295 kt (a320 CEO) ,320 kt(a320 NEO), 294 kt (321CEO) and it's decreasing with pres.alt decrease. But according FCOM ABN ALTN AND DIRECT LAW we have max speed of 320 kt for all these types... |
320kts is VMO in alternate/Direct Law
The other speeds are VA. What exactly is the question? |
Lets assume that you have any failure that cause ALTN LAW , are you permitted to accelerate to 320 kt(Vmo 320/.77 ecam), where limitation states that in ALTN law max designed speed 295 according to the chart???
|
Va is NOT a limit.
|
Its published in AFM LIMITATIONS CHAPTER ,read description to this chapter before...
ANd read note : this LIMITATION ... |
Va isn't the "max designed speed", but rather the "max designed MANEUVERING speed"
Thus, to answer your question : Yes you can. This "limitation" is merely stating that above this speed, you should be gentle and careful with the use of the flight controls (this is basically the definition of Va). Whether it is wise or not to go above this speed is another subject and obviously depends on many other factors. |
THanks!now I understand!)
