Auckland Charts - meaning of (ATC) beside waypts in STAR chart
Hi there,
Does anyone know what does the (ATC) beside the waypoint in the star chart means? For eg. EMRAG (ATC). Any official doc would be good. I can't find it in Jepps Glossary. Thanks |
Which particular chart are you looking at?

|
Perhaps it means that the speed restriction is only applicable if ATC invoke it?
|
eckhard,
Methinks that is the advertised speed restriction unless otherwise advised by ATC. Open for correction though. |

The speed restriction is for ATC purposes and not related to procedure design. An ATC speed can be cancelled. A speed tied to the construction of a procedure (think PANS-OPS requirements) can not be.
|
Same for TERPs in the U.S., although "ATC" is usually associated with an altitude that is not needed for obstacle clearance.
