Learn something new every day. Now, when would you need to request a special frequency?

Thanks you. When would you need it?

Dubai ARR handles the planes into DXB/DWC/SHJ. When it gets busy (single runway ops in DXB, peak time), they use the 'Director' frequency for the last part of the arrival until they hand you over to the Tower frequency.

You have to contact 'Director' upon request of 'Arrivals', usually using callsign only.

Hope that helps.

There's a note to that effect on the plan view panel on the plates.

Ok. On their request. Not mine. Got it. Thanks
