A320 MCDU ATSU - FLT LOG timings

Hello.

If you go to MCDU MENU - ATSU - FLT LOG, it will show up your necessary timings such as out off in on.

My question is, where does the timings come from? Especially the off chocks time.

Could not find it on the FCOM. Tried googling it as well.

Depends on how your airline has it configured. Could be based on doors, wheel movement, or something else, perhaps.

Ours is brakes released after last door closed. For the ‘In’ time it’s last park brake set before doors are opened.

check your MEL for ‘cabin door showing permanently open’ and it might give you some info. In that scenario for us the OOOI times are corrupted or may not register times so we have to manually record it.

First, it is a customer decision what to use, and second, the "applications" or available pages are actually customer programmable and can look completely different between operators. I have flown on several different ones now and they all had their completely different and own set of available ATSU/ACARS pages. Some can be very detailed and all-encompassing, for example if the whole journey- and techlog is done in there, and some are pretty basic.

As others have said, it is customer's decision and of course, can be updated. Ours for out (chocks off) time is brakes off and aircraft movement. Time on chocks, however, is recorded at last parking brake application before first cabin door is opened. As we are still in charge of the aircraft if for example, ground staff take their time in placing the jetway/airstair into position, we do have a little fun of our own with the parking brake in the meantime :E

We use a Honeywell FMS. After a lot of searching was presented with a copy of a Honeywell “ATSU standard Airbus AOC menu pilot reference guide”. This came from our maintenance dept. We just happen to use the “Standard” non customised setup which describes nicely all the AOC functions. Not sure how information is communicated when this part of the ATSU is customised.
