737-700 and BBJ same rating !

Hi Guys,
I was having an discussion/ argument with another engineer in the pub. It was concerning a Cayman registered BBJ and as I said that a BBJ and a 737-700 is exactly the same machine in terms of cerification it is not a sperate rate rating but a common 737-700-800-900 rating! It is worth a few beers fro me so I would appreciate your comments and any supporting documents you may have?

The EASA type rating list https://www.easa.europa.eu/easa-and-...enance-licence does not list a BBJ

The only 737NG rating available is :Boeing 737-600/700/800/900 (CFM56)

The BBJ is not listed as it is not an aircraft type as per the airworthiness definitions. The aircraft type of a BBJ is, for instance "Boeing B737-9Jxxx" and then the common rating for B737Ngs applies.

You also need to be a bit more specific than just "BBJ". While the 737 based BBJ is certainly the most common, there are also 787 and 747-8 based BBJs out there (there may be other models as well - but I'm positive of the 787 and 747-8).
Why do you think a 737 BBJ would be a different type rating than any other 737NG? It's the same airframe (aside from a stronger wing - -800 wing structure on a -700 fuselage), all the rest is interior furnishings.

BBJ is a designator for a separate arm inside Boeing and refer to Boeing products that can be uniquely customized for the private, business or governmental sectors.
They are for pilot the same as the platform on which it is based, various variants exist, just go to the BBJ site of Boeing for current versions for sale.
