A320 - Packs back on after EFATO?
As per the title. What is the perceived wisdom? My guess, good pack back on at selection of MCT?
Oh, and overweight landing in Flap 3, pack back off at about 1500' (avoids ecam blah during landing inhibit) and straight to Flap1+F if go-around initiated? |
Yeah get the good pack back on, and if the engine failure is just a flameout without any perceivable damage( Fire pbs not pushed in ) you can use the other pack also using cross bleed valve. Starting the APU and using the APU bleed gives you the dual benefit of sharing the electrical load and helping you keep the packs on in case of overweight landing.
|
Just be careful in case of ENG 2 damage and/or fire, if you have discharged the bottles and you plan on using the APU bleed for the overweight landing, you should shut off the crossbleed, otherwise after a few seconds also the pack 2 will be fed by the APU, resulting in contamination.
In case of same situation on ENG 1, just forget APU bleed and go packs off. APU bleed first would feed pack 1, which you clearly don't want in this case, then after a few seconds automatically the pack 2 through the cross bleed valve. |

The original post is scanty. He means after packs off TO with EFATO the good engine pack is put back after thrust is brought to MCT. And during OW landing you put it off again.

Makes more sense now. Thanks.
