GE ATP - Will it be a winner?

GE seem to be throwing everything at this design. Increased pressure ratio, FADEC, no fuel nozzles, advanced cooling for turbine blades, additive manufacturing that dramatically reduces the parts count. 20% increase in fuel efficiency.

So will it live up to the hype?

What is P&WC doing. I haven't seen anything in the press of how they will counter this new engine.

Could GE become the dominant player in turbo props.

I seem to remember GE purchasing Walter engines several years ago. It looks like the development of that. Competition is always good and Pratt would probably have to step up their game if GE can make it as reliable as a PT-6.

I seem to remember the Allison 501 on the Electra was single lever control!
So that's not new.
Also, don't BAe own the name ATP (Advanced Turbo Prop), (or was it 80p).
