777 SARD inop
For any 777 gurus
The DDG says to ARM inoperative doors or those with escape slides removed Would you still arm an INOP L3 door due to SARD (Spoiler auto retract device) bei INOP? |
MEL 27-61-02
Associated passenger entry door 3 is considered inoperative. Repairs are to be made within one flight day. With spoiler 7 SARD inop, door 3L must be considered inop With spoiler 8 SARD inop, door 3R must be considered inop Must be dispatched using MEL 52-11-01. MEL 52-11-01 says to arm all doors including the inop doors, the inop door must be placarded INOPERATIVE, seats surrounding the door must placarded DO NOT OCCUPY, floor proximity escape path lighting to be covered or obscured, Emergency Exit sign covered so it is not visible. Cabin crew must be briefed :ok: In answer to your question, the MEL is quite clear that it is to be armed |
Thank you Sleeve
That is how I read it but it doesn't seem to make much sense if the slide would be hindered by the spoiler, which I understand you could manually retract. appreciate your response |
Ok, because slide hindered by spoiler, it makes sense that o/wing exit considered inop with SARD inop, however what about if MEL 27-61-03 also applied with spoilers 7/8 deactivated in retracted position. Doesn't this make exit useable again (not that I would ever contravene anything written in MEL:=)?
