Honeywell FMS A330 Cruise Temp Entry
 

For FMGS preflight set up, A 330 FCOM (DSC-22_20-50-10-25 P 4/142) advises INIT A Page LSK 6L entry as "The pilot has to enter the temperature at cruise flight level.."

I consider this temperature entry is only for climb profile calculation, not for cruise. This is because, after engine start this temperature moves to FUEL PRED page and then disappears (replaced by white dashes) when reached to cruise level.

I also remember in Bill Bulfer's B 737 FMC Guide, a similiar entry with same name (Cruise Temp), is considered as misnomer and should have been "Top of Climb Temperature"

In Lido Paper Flight Plan, there is an avarage Temp for whole trip and, of course, a TOC and further waypoints temperatures. I consider technically TOC temperatures should be entered to LSK 6L. But some pilots disagree.

My understanding is that by entering the cruise temperature the FMGC has a more accurate TAS with which to calculate ETA and fuel remaining.

You can enter this for multiple flightlevels.

When you enter this temperature you will see the system re-calculating.

Yep then you enter TROPO level on the INIT page 1 as well......

And if you get an OPT FL that seems stupidly low for the day, go back and put a "-" in front of the temp…. :E

E.Janson, I guess you mean the cruise waypoint wind and temp entries. That is another subject. What I mention is INIT A page set up at preflight preperation.

Could you not re-insert the CI - it would re-assess everything (OAT etc., etc.)
