777 autopilot

Looking at:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/130315/L/

I see the 777 has only one autopilot engage selector on the MCP (as opposed to 3 on the other Boeing EFIS, one for each channel).

Does this imply the systems logic automatically selects the most appropriate autpilot given a failure scenario in one of the a/c systems?

Thanks - new to glass

sorry

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/130314/L/

is a better link, with the autopilot on the LH side of the picture

Effectively full-time multi-channel engagement, hence only one switch.

thus the callout would be "Autopilot ON/OFF". used to be "Autopilot L/C/R ON/OFF" :)
