RKSI ILS 33R

When fly into RKSI,for ILS 33R if you clear to direct to pulun and clear for ILS approach ,will you continue with LNAV until 18 nm then ARM LOC with V/S mode until 10 NM then arm APP for GS? Or what technique do you use? Thanks.

Produce the ICN 33R Jepp plate so as to be
specific about whatever it is you're asking.

LNAV with VOR/LOC armed. To lose 3,400' in 8nm, Level Change if above GS until captured then select APPR. Uncomfortable for pax if APPR is armed above the GS.

I don't recall getting anything but vectors in to RKSI unless you get the long way around to 15.

Where the Jeppesen feather starts in the plan view is where you should be on LOC rather than LNAV. I can't speak for all FMS equipment but many will auto-switch from LNAV to LOC when the P-FAF becomes the active waypoint. That would be crossing TOMAL.

I believe the question is more about the ILS protection area. GS being guaranteed till 10nm

I didn't take the question that way, but in any case the standard beam protected areas are irrelevant if flying "own nav" under IFR. It works the way I stated and the G/S is not primary for vertical until the point at which the feather begins in the profile view.
