A320 overweight LDG with F/S jammed
Dear all, in case of overweight landing with slats /flaps jammed, Vls could be higher than Vfe next. In this case, to my understanding, the relevant procedure says that one has to disconnect the ATHR in order to reduce the speed below Vls and, once below Vfe next, one can extend the flaps/slats to the next configuration, this until landing configuration is established. Is this correct? |
Hi,
According to QRH-27.01 sixth note: -If VLS is greater than VFE NEXT (overweight landing case), the FLAPS lever can be set in the required next position, while the speed is reduced to follow VLS reduction as surfaces extend. The VFE warning should not be triggered. In this case, disconnect the A/THR. A/THR can be re-engaged when the landing configuration is established. So yeah, Best Regards, Daniel |

Procedure.. Do not fly slower than VLS! Reduce to and stabilise at VLS. A/THR OFF, maintain VLS. Select next FLAP position, even if above VFE next. As the Slat or Flap extends VLS will reduce (remember VLS is always accurate for the existing CONF). Adjust thrust manually to reduce speed as VLS reduces. At required CONF ... A/THR ON with a suitable selected speed. |
..ok, now it makes sense, thank you guys!
