Ares: Rolls-Royce RB.211 - Sheep Scarer Supreme
Heard the one about the amateur mechanic who took a Rolls-Royce RB.211-22B turbofan from a TWA Lockheed L-1011 and ran it in his backyard? Well you have now... Moments to cherish from this totally lunatic video are around 3:35 when you see the sheep in background going nuts and around 4:50 when the man with the ear defenders sticks his head into the inlet as the engine is winding down. Only in Britain... |
And why not...........:p
|
But this seems scarier!

A FOD screen is missing.

Thanks
A copy of this is going to all my neighbors the next time they complain about the goings-on at my home machine shop.

First thing I looked for was the anchoring. Right at the start of the second clip, "Uh oh....", and I thought the way the elderly gent in it went stage right for a fire extinguisher.
Total coincidence if both their names are Richard Head. |

Seems reasonable behaviour to me.

There were helicopters - the big yellow ones with a ladder on the side - advertised in Exchange & Mart for £80 each, c 1964. Lads at the pub wanted to put it in my back garden. Access and space just about okay. Perhaps fortunately, the bloke wanted to sell all of them in one lot. There is no way it would have stood there for long.

Msbbarratt: Don't forget the airbag. But do ensure it's put in the seat bottom so that in the case of an accidental meeting with a stray shopping cart our intrepid mechanic lives to try again with a bigger engine.

Re the 'sheep scarer' - I wonder if he was running it on red diesel? :}:ok:
