FLAPS UP TAKE OFF B 737 NG
Is there any procedure to take off with flaps up on B 737 NG .thanks:confused:

No, there is no procedure to do that.
You also have an alarm (take off configuration) that won't let you do it. |

I believe the normal procedure is to hopelessly accelerate towards the end of the runway, cross the end of the runway and then explode in a massive fireball of jetfuel and burning FCOMs.

Of course you won't find any written procedure anywhere for flaps up takeoff. |

Because it works so well in MSFS and he wonders why nobody does it in the real world. Guess we all have to buy that Microsoft Aerodynamic Upgrade Package :}

Old rule of aviation - give it enough power and anything can fly.
2012 update by Capt Inop - if you get it fast enough anything will fly. That's true. Cars fly in tornadoes. 150,000 lbs - no flap stall speed - 163 kts. 160,000 lbs - 168 kts. That would mean you'd be at 195 -200 kts to achieve 1.2Vso. That's 'Century' fighter speeds. :ok: |
The B52 that was used at Edwards AFB for years to drop X planes always took off with flaps up. The mounting set up of whatever was being dropped did not allow for flap deployment.
Of course they had a 30 mile long runway and they planned it that way.. |

A Canadian western based blue and teal operator did it on a 732 many years ago and survived to tell the story ..to accident board investigators that is.

You could takeoff in any Aircraft Flapless assuming
1/ runway long enough to accelerate to min clean speed. 2/ you don't exceed the max tire speed 3/ you have enough thrust If I jumped in my A330 at say 160 tonnes and used TOGA I could accelerate to about 203 kts ( green dot is about 203 at 160T which is the max tire ground speed ) then off I go......might use a bit of runway though!! So there you have it, to stay within the max tire speed of 203 kts and reach minimum clean speed I'd need to be about 160T TOW and that is basically empty!! So, would you want to anyway?? |
