b737 classic and ng autopilot go-round
Hi all,
I want to clear up some confusion on the subject of the dual autopilot go-around from a ILS approach if the pre-existing conditions are adhered to; ie loc and g/s captured, both autopilot engaged prior to 800 ft AGL etc... However I have encountered on the B737 non efis/efis 300/400, that when below 2000 AGL you can stll conduct a a/p go-around with out "FLARE" being annunciated at approximately 1500 AGL. I recall that when I was at approximately 1900' AGL Our aircraft was told to go-around by ATC, to our suprise the 737 afds conducted the dual a/p go-around before "FLARE" was armed????? "A/P Go–Around, The A/P GA mode requires dual A/P operation and is available after FLARE armed is annunciated and prior to the A/P sensing touchdown." Boeng 737 classic/NG fcom statement (we pressed toga did the usual go-around drill sops) how is this so...??? (tried this on the sim aswell, same result?) |
My understanding is that as long as g/s and loc are captured and both autopilots are engaged, autopilot g/a is available regardless of if flare is armed or not.
