hi all, is there any sop or procedure to avoid birds on final app.

If you see it, avoid it.

If your plane far outweighs the birds


Fly the airplane, let the birds make the moves

EASA is to mandate all birds to carry "mode S transponders" there will be no further problems!

Do nothing is best.

If you just have to do anything close your eyes is the next best option.

Other recent studies indicate that some birds may view aircraft as immobile objects, and turn slowly away when at a perceived safe distance.

Bird size can be estimated by observing the wing-beat rate; the slower the beat, the larger the bird—and the greater the potential for damage.

Also, more eyeballs = more chance of spottings the birds, so if you can, try to look out the window together..

I like that one, and it is also my personal expierience.

Friend of mine had a student in the front seat, who started an evasive maneuver on short final.
Final achievement: 20 million $ aircraft (F4) broken near the runway and two pilots with a martin baker nylon landing, thankfully with minor bruises.

I have made a go-around due to an incredible quantity of birds flying over the final approach area. It was just after rain. They were flying over the area where trash is thrown.
