E190 Fuel Burn
Hi Folks.
I do airport and airspace simulations for a living. I am doing a study, quantifying fuel burn for RNP STARS and have detected what I consider to be anomolous fuel burn numbers for the E190. My perception is that the 190 should burn less than a B737NG, in all phases of flight. Maybe in the ROM of 75-80%? We use aircraft data licensed by Eurocontrol and generally it is very good. However, in this case it is specifying quantities of ~ 10kg/min in descent for the E190, and ~9kg/min for the NG. ~ Same speeds. This is for lower altitudes <FL180. Anyone have any thoughts? I know, a rhetorical question! :) |
I'm pretty well removed from the Embraers these days, but I remember the 190 engines idling pretty high in descents - made for a notably different descent profile from the 170/175.
Your numbers might not be accurate, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were. |
737 does idle descents, 190 defaults 3 degree descents, so sometimes powered descent. Might explain higher burn.

Folks please disregard. These numbers are rroneous and entered in error.
