737NG Main Deck Cargo Door

Hi All,

Searching for info on the B737C (preferably NG but CL would do)) main deck cargo door.
Best would be an extract from the AOM (Controls and indications, description and perhaps operation/limitations sections).
Appreciate your help.

Cheers,

I don't think the NG has had the Cargo Door modification yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong

The US uses the C-40 (737-700) with a cargo door, so there are NGs with the main deck cargo door.

I fly 734 combis and freighter. What exactly do you need to know?

Hi Again,

1. As for the term "main deck": sorry, but Boeing uses it.
2. In addition to the US Navy C40A Boeing offers a BBJ Convertible version with this door. Currently there is one available for sale in the used a/c market.
3. I would need some basic info - is it hydraulically operated?
- if yes, is it an independent system or uses the main hydraulics, A or B
- can it be operated using the APU and the ELEC Hyd pumps?
- location of the control panel
- operation
- limitations (if any)
- QRH procedures (if any)

Many thanks for your help,

b

My experience was with the one used by SQ sometime in the early 90s (using Silkair pilots).

We used to have pressurisation problems related to the big door seal, there was concern that flex in the fuselage was also a contributing factor but the airplane was phased out before anything could be done.

Can't remember the registration...

its 9V-SQZ

The cargo door runs off of B system. The controls are by the L1 door. There are some wind limitations based on how wide the door is opened. There are two actuators, one can be MEL'd. There is a latch on the door itself and two external viewports to make sure the door is locked. The door also is tied in to the config warning system.
