Laws and Regulations - Civil aircraft maintenance
Hi all, I'm new to the forum. :p
I'm currently writing up a report on the laws and regulations for civil aircraft maintenance. So I'm just wondering, does anyone have any links or info regarding the laws and regulations to civil aircraft maintenance? I've tried researching it a bit on the internet but it's not very in depth and there isn't that much information out there. And I think it's better if I had direct information from people in the aircraft industry. So if anyone could help, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks a bunch in advance. :) |

EASA - Regulations structure
Especially EC 2042/2003 Part M for example is you owning a car and your duty to and how to look after it. Part 145 is the garage you take it too when you want it fixed. Part 66 the skill requirements of the mechanic working on your car and releasing it back to you in a safe state for/from the garage. Part 147 trains the mechanic to the standard to fix your car. Simples!!!! |

For more detailed scheduled check/overhaul.replacement etc, you would have to ask the aircraft manufacturer for master schedule maintenance manual or Tech Record of an AOC for the schedule maintenance manual. Nowaday, most have phase checks and C1,C2,C3-C8 etc reducing the necessity for D check so as to save down time in the hanger. |

Maintenance from where myself and glhcarl differ greatly due to that I am in the UK and glhcarl in the US. If your report is on UK legislation then the requirements of the regulation are within the EU regs I posted. An EU regulation is European Union Law. Further to this the UK Air Navigation Order, that does still cover many aviation criteria is a Civil Act of Parliament; this could land you a prison sentence if not complied too. The ANO refers to the uk maintenance requirement as my previous post (EU reg 2042/2003). This is then covered by European union law. Hope this helps Beeline |
