737NG Flight Deck Air Conditioning Vents
 
Hello All,


In my 737 systems manual it says that there is an adjustment to the air vent above and behind the pilots' heads and that the amount of air flow coming from that vent may be increased/decreased by turning a 'slotted screw'. I can't find the slotted screw and I was wondering whether someone with a maintenance manual could provide me a link or photo that I can find it and learn more about it. Thanks.

That would be news to me. The best way to regulate airflow is to jam a safety card behind the spare bulb holder on the FO side or the rope door on the captain's side and thus block the vent which in any other case will always blow down one's neck irrespectively of the swivel deflector position...

Yes. That's the vent I'm referring to. I found the quote in my Volume II page 20.30.4.

I just found it in my Vol 2 as well, will look next time I fly :)



Each of these outlets can be opened or closed as desired by turning a
slotted adjusting screw.
