Russian approach plates Cyrillic
Where can I find .pdf copies of Russian approach plates in Cyrillic on the internet?
And how many Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Ranges (VORs) are operational within Russia today? Thanks! Captain Dick Siano FlightSafety International - Teterboro |
Russian approach Plates Cyrillic
rsiano:
Have you tried the Russian AIP, each page used to be in both Languages. It may help. Tmb |
Here is an online version of the Russion AIP. They don't seem to use Cyrillic on the charts. Maybe it will still help you.

The site is a little difficult to wade through, but the plates are under AD2 Aerodromes...
The information on the aerodrome is in both languages, but the plates are not. Not sure if HF VOR data is specifically located anywhere... (note that elev, hgt, and alt in meters...distances are in km) Good luck! |
This month's Russian AIP has 41 VORs in it, 38 of which are VOR/DME.

dvv...good form!
I should have known someone in DC would know... considering how many aerodromes they have, thats is very low, is this due to tech upgrades? I know they have many GBAS systems shown, with GBAS final approach procedures, but am not aware how many of the aircraft are GBAS equipped to take advantage of this... do you know of the operability of the GBAS/aircraft procedures? |
Huh? What upgrades? And what makes you think there's many GBAS approaches? As per AIP, there's only one GBAS-equipped location (USTR), and even that one is NOTAM'd out:
GBAS U/S. GBAS GNSS APCH NOT AVBL. 02 JUN 04:00 2011 UNTIL 31 DEC 23:59 2011. CREATED: 02 JUN 04:10 2011 |
Thats odd, but understandable, they list GBAS as operational for several aerodromes...but I havent heard of any use, and the Russia GBAS system is not compatible with the ICAO GBAS. At a site flygls.net, you can list the tag to see the actual aerodrome
|
rsiano, so anyway. If you need charts with Cyrillic in them for ****s and giggles, you can use the "old form" and outdated airnav info collection at http://aviadocs.net/CAI/ Otherwise, stick to the less exotic current AIP.
|
Who they? The Russian AIP lists precisely 1 (one) airport with GBAS, see above.
