PUA,

So, you think your incoherent ramble two posts up validates your posting here?

The question was does wind effect the best obtainable climb angle wrt the ground.

The answer is yes.

Practical applications of this are, indeed, questionable.

Oh- and Air Data Computers do not do ANY such calculations- they NEVER have wind information.

Flight Management Computers, however, usually do...

Especially for Wizofoz

FMCs get their basic info from the ADC. Most of the FMC stuff comes from flight testing since there is no way you can calculate all this stuff.
Now as far as the question is concerned. Of course if you change the original conditions then there will be a change. Question is .... how much?

Wizofoz 9th Mar 2011 15:36

No,

FMCs get there info from ADC, GPS, IRS and database which, while related to flight teat data, is modified for the particular airframe. ADCs NEVER recieve wind information.

How much? Well, which aircraft under what circumstances?

A slow flying aircraft in a wind that represents a high percentage of it's still air Vx? potentially a lot.

fact remains the question was "Does it", and the answer is "yes"!

So Wizofoz, before you go on rambling on another forum about what I wrote on this one you may want to think twice.
Don't believe he needs to 'think twice'....he has the data and you don't.
Sad to say, many new posters come here and pontificate about a particular subject, with no clear understanding about what they post.
Better they should ask questions, instead.
