A320 Headsets Altitude
I was wondering if there is a referene for the altitude where I can remove the headsets,we usually remove it at 10000 feet but some say that you have to remove it only when you are on cruise?!!

We have must be on until TOC and on from TOD.
I will look up where it comes from in a moment.. PT6A |
Same for us, also when only one person is in the flightdeck. Also for UK reg. aircraft it is a requirement of the Air Navigation Order for all flightdeck crew to use a headset during public transport operations when below FL150 in controlled airspace or when taking off or landing. So no headset, no flying.

In our airline, headsets must be used on the ground and in-flight below 18,000ft, and whenever deemed necessary by the captain. Also, both crew members must communitcate by the same means (i.e. headset or boom mike), so if the captain wants to keep his headset on all day then sorry, but so must you.
We also have the requirement for the remaining crewmember to go onto headset comms when the other pilot leaves his seat. |
Guess what: Headsets must be used in my cockpit for the entire flight because I don't like blaring speakers.
Actually, lightweight, noise cancelling headphones with boom microphones are quite comfortable. |
Our SOP says at or above FL150 or Transition Altitude, whichever is higher during climb and just before TOD or FL150 or Transition Level, whichever is higher during descend.
VR  |

The crew are breaking the law in that picture as it is now in EU-OPS.. EU-OPS is law....
Their operations manual HAS to have a section in it stating that headsets must be worn... PT6A |
