A318 Limits at LCY

Just being nosey. What approach limits apply from the steep approach?

Are Xwind limits any different?

I am led to believe:
  • for ILS 27 (5.5-deg glide path) DA(H) 550(530) 1000m RVR 1319m LDA
  • for ILS 09 (5.5-deg glide path) DA(H) 460(444) 1000m RVR 1319m LDA also.
XWC limits apparently 26kts

Thanks. Much as I would have guessed.

I'm a RJ100 pilot at LCY

We all thought we'd have a great laugh at you guys in your Airbus.

As far as I can tell it isthe MOST stable type I've seen operating here.

Good job chaps! :ok:

nothing to do with a Capts only landing or is this another myth? I know its posted elsewhere, but how do they get that 5.5 degree descent rate to be stable on approach? Is there a selection of partial spoilers or modified flaps/slats?

As far as I am aware it is Captains only landing at LCY.

As to the A318 steep approach capability, this Airbus document tells you everything you need to know:
