737 stabilizer trim

why is there a 0.5 unit difference in the stabilizer trim wheel of captain's and first officer's? all help is welcomed!!!

The left and right side indicators have got out of alignment! They are not really accurate to more than about half a division anyway.

are these indicators out of alignment in all 737 fleet? and also it writes in our sop that there's a 0.5 unit difference and the captain's side must be the one that should be set correctly.

CAT1 REVERSION 11th Oct 2008 08:07

It is my understanding (737-300) that the F/O's side is the master side and if there is any miss-match the F/O's side should be set to required trim! (within limits of course!)........

I stby to be corrected!

Exactly...our B737-700s FCOM quotes a maximum of 0.5 units difference, and doesn't refer to either one specifically for trim setting!

Cheers...FD...:)

If the FCOM or FCTM makes no mention of which stab trim should be set as a master then there is no master. Amazing how chief pilots come up with these little gimmicks and opinion becomes fact
